Here at Crystals and Flames we have a wide range of beautiful Opals. All our Opal’s are mined within our home Country, Australia. These mines are held in Coober Peedy and Lightning Ridge.
Our standard is that all our crystals are ethically sourced, and we love to support Australia mines.
Opals are multi-coloured crystals that have small spheres of silica (spheres of silica means that they are formed from two elements in Earth's crust, silicon and oxygen). These spheres hold water in between them. These have Diffraction of Light which means when light bends off the crystal creating opalescence. Opalescence is a beautiful sight and is what often draws people’s attention in. Opals can come in a wide range of colours based off their size and quality. Opals are a very soft stone, meaning that they’re more susceptible to damage.
In some cultures, such as European Cultures, they have believed that Opal’s are a symbol of hope, purity and truth. Within our own culture in Australia Opal’s are held within many Aboriginal Dreamtime stories.
In store and online we have a range of pendants which include more affordable options such as your Boulder Opal’s. Our pendants are set in Sterling Silver and each piece holds something different to the one before it.
There are many metaphysical properties held within an opal such as it being associated with the sacral chakra. This has been known to hold a display of fire that can inflame your creativity. This stone has been said that it will improve eyesight.
