Crinoid Fossils
Crinoids belong to the class Crinoidea within the phylum Echinodermata, which also includes starfish, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers. They are characterized by a central body (the theca) and a set of feathery arms that are used for feeding. Crinoids can be divided into two main forms:

Stalked crinoids (sea lilies): These attach to the seafloor with a long stalk made of calcareous rings called ossicles.
